Whew!
Another weekend ended - already! At least this is a short week for me and the girls. We only have school on Monday and Tuesday. I need a long weekend!
It was another busy weekend. Friday night I hosted book club. (We read "A Thousand Splendid Suns". Loved it. Jess had a basketball game Saturday morning. Her team won easily and Jess scored a basket. (Yay, Jessica!) Today the girls and I volunteered for the Humane Society, assembling "Pet Packages" (an annual fundraiser where the packages are sold at local businesses). We came home smelling like pig's ears. The girls and I didn't appreciate the aftereffect, but Dixie thought I smelled just great! :-) This afternoon Ali went to a b'day party and Jess marched in the annual downtown Holiday Parade. That's it for parades until Memorial Day and I can't say I'll miss them. Three parades in less than a month is a bit much. I rented Amazing Grace this afternoon. It wasn't quite as good as I'd hoped, but I still enjoyed it. I enjoyed learning about Willilam Wilburforce and the English abolition movement. It was not something I'd heard about in school.
I finally assembled a photo album of most of the pages that I finished at my October scrapbook retreat. Look for the link under "Albums" on the right. Also, my Dixie album can be seen here.
Oops! I forgot that I was going to post the current Angel Company promotions. Flyers for two current promtotions can be viewed on The Angel Company's Promotions page. I really love the Oh My Golly promotion - I love the paper and the stamps! Another cool promotion are the Surprise Boxes. For $50, you receive a box of assorted papercrafting supplies from previous catalogs. The package is advertised as being worth at least $100 and people are reporting that they contain over $200 worth of merchandise. Here are some sample Surprise Box contents. And, don't forget our Stamp of the Month set, Button Words. Orders can be placed through me (just send me an email) or through my online ordering site.
Have a great (short!) week!

Homecoming '07
Homecoming Weekend is one of the fun things about living in a college town. One of the things that made our October so much fun (but so busy!) was Homecoming. Jess marched in the public school homecoming parade on Friday of Homecoming Weekend. She got her picture in the local newspaper. This was vindication of sorts for Jess.... When she attended Twilight Camp as a Brownie, she got her picture in the paper, too - only it was of the back of her head! Then, to make matters worse, Ali got her picture on the FRONT PAGE of the local paper a few yeas ago! A few weeks ago, Jess told me that Ali had her picture on the front page but she's had her picture in the paper twice, so that makes them "even". Not much competition between those two, huh?! :-) Here's Jess:

The following day was the annual MU Homecoming Parade. (Yep, Jess marched in that, too.) Ali loves to see all the floats, etc., but mostly she loves the candy that gets thrown to the audience! Here she is awaiting the start of the parade:

Here are a few photos from the MU parade:

Naughty or Nice?
You know, when your day starts with the knob on the shower breaking as you go to turn the water on, that kinda tells you it's NOT going to be a good day. The cat didn't think it was such a hot start to the day either, because there I was traipsing across the house with towel and shampoo in hand, ignoring him completely. Tiger doesn't understand why any human being - much less the one who normally feeds him - would be walking around early in the morning for any reason other than to give him breakfast.
Let's see... I also locked myself out of my car at work. Shortly after discovering this, I also discovered that my cell phone was dead. (I am SO bad about remembering to recharge the thing.) Jessica's basketball team lost their first game tonight. (At least it was close - 22 to 25 - and the team they played was tough.)
Anyway... here's an ATC (trading card) that I mailed off for a holiday Bella stamp. Stamping Bella makes the cutest "Bella" (and Fella and a few other...) stamps. The stamp is entitled LisaBella (so, really, how could I not buy it?) and she actually carries a briefcase. I didn't ink that part of the stamp, leaving her looking very much like a modern Mrs. Claus checking out the Naughty or Nice list.

If you'd like a Bella or two for yourself (there are dozens!), you can purchase them at http://www.stampingbella.com. I have about 5 of them, but this is the first time I got to sit down and play with one. And that was only because I had to to get them mailed off for the Bella swap! I'm so glad craft show season is winding down. I have so much to catch up on my blog!
Tomorrow I'll post the current TAC (The Angel Company) specials as well as photos of some recent projects.
