Great finds
If Martha can have her "good things", Oprah can have her "favorites" and Alton can have his "good eats", surely we mortals can share our good finds, right?
MOM finds -
Panera Bread Company's Strawberry, Poppyseed and Chicken Salad. I *love* this salad. That's the first time the words "love" and "salad" have ever been uttered in the same sentence by yours truly.
McDonald's Iced Coffee. I'm hooked on the Hazelnut flavored version. Way less expensive (and I"m hoping way less fattening) than a Starbuck's Mocha Frappucino. We're all hooked at the summer school office. :)
KID finds -
Molli Coolz ice cream. Ali loves Dippin' Dots but they're more expensive than Starbucks! This is the grocery store version. I can buy a 4 pack for the same as a medium cup of Dippin' Dots at the mall. And they come with a free reusable ice pack!
PET finds -
Self-cleaning slicker brush (http://tinyurl.com/325enr). Dixie's hair is short and fine and clogs up a brush in no time flat. The self cleaning "grill" is a great invention!

Time Warp
If I thought I was way behind in my blogging when I hadn't posted in 3 months, what does that make me when it's been a YEAR and two months?! ;-) When I finally get around to making that schedule I keep talking about, remind me to include a regular blogging "appointment"!
In case you're relying on this blog to keep you up to date (and, boy are you in trouble if you are!), here's the reader's digest of life since a year ago last May...
Jess is officially a teenager (13!) and a soon to be junior high student. I can still remember driving her to school on her first day of kindergarten! How does this happen and when was I consulted to say it was OK for her to grow up so fast?!
Ali is still, well, Ali. :-) She marches to her own drummer, but she's growing up, too. Being the youngest child and the youngest cousin (with 2 older female cousins and one big sister), she sometimes is growing up too fast, wanting to be like the big girls.
We've adopted a wonderful dog, a yellow Lab name Dixie. She's big, sweet and cuddly. All the things I look for in a dog. :-) We still miss Tash, but Dixie is the best dog we could've adopted for our family. She's loving, gentle and well behaved. But has her goofy moments, too. :-) She loves to eat bugs (I dread the day she catches one of those bumblebees in my garden!) and loves to come barrelling at you to tackle you. (A 70 lb dog running full out is quite a force to be reckoned with!)
Other household pets still include Tiger the cat, Fluffy the guinea pig, Speckles the rabbit and Emmett the snake (who has since been joined by Layla the snake). The foster animal contingent changes on a revolving basis but currently includes a huge rabbit named Silver Cloud. (Hey, I just foster them, I don't name them!)
I'm looking forward to working full time next school year at a local high school. The job search was a long, arduous and stressful process, but I think I've found a good fit.
I hope to add some of my stamping and scrapbooking projects over here. Look for those soon.
And my next post will be sooner than 1 year and 2 months. I promise. :-)
